About the writers...

Andrew Baker and Gary McArthur are a couple of penniless alcoholics from Middlesbrough (which is quite close to Hartlepool but a long way from London and Mold) who chose to write down their inane ramblings during a number (87) of heavy drinking sessions in The Stainton Public House. Having written nothing since leaving school they were desperate to ensure that they got it right. Alas, their chosen copy-editor would not accept their offer of 'a few jars' and so they were forced to edit the book themselves over several more (24) sessions in the pub. The result is a work of pure Guinness.
